Genelia D'Souza, who charmed in 2008's super success Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na but failed to impress in Mere Baap Pehle Aap, is returning to Bollywood with Life Partner on August 14.
The popular south star has gained a firm foothold in Bollywood with four films in the making.
It’s been over a year since Genelia has seen in a Hindi film but the long absence has more to do with her commitments in the south than any lack of assignments in Mumbai.
Despite her success, Genelia has yet to work with either a big banner or a big star – a Khan that is.
She isn't impressed with the big banner logic.
“What’s the definition of a big banner,” she asks. “I have worked with UTV, Studio 18, Aamir Khan Productions, done films in the South, and I have four releases this year. There’s one opposite Fardeen Khan, It’s My Life opposite Hurman Baweja, Hook Ya Crook with John Abraham and Yahoo with Shahid Kapoor. Isn’t that a lot?”
When it comes to working with the Khans, she is more subdued.
"Like every young girl, I too would like to work with the Khans, but each film has a script and only a suitable actor can play that role,” she admits.
